Washington Apple Education Foundation Hybrid Luncheon 2021 – Wenatchee

July 2021

The Washington Apple Education Foundation hired the GFS Events team to plan, execute, and create two engaging hybrid events for their Annual Scholarship Celebration Luncheon. WAEF hosts an event in the cities that they provide scholarships to, Yakim and Wenatchee. Proceeds from the Annual Luncheon support the Foundation’s work to provide scholarships for students in the local area.  In addition to the in-person luncheon, GFS Events integrated a completely virtual experience for attendees that were not able to join the in-person fundraising event. Our team managed the livestream component of the event by creating a run of show and working with the AV vendor to broadcast the event online. We also worked alongside a Spanish translator so people in the room and online could enjoy the experience as well. The GFS Events team created email and social media templates, oversaw vendor management, and designed all event collateral.  GFS was also in charge of creating the Run of Show for the day of the event, ensuring that the fundraiser ran on time and without a hitch for the 300+ people in attendance. Before the event, the students arrive for workshops to better prepare themselves for the job market after college. The GFS team assisted with day of needs for the various workshops including venue coordination and registration management.

Fun Fact
The centerpieces for the event were locally grown apples!
Connecting with donors and communicating how generous contributions are impacting communities are vital for non-profits. During “covid times” this has been a unique challenge. We were fortunate to have guidance from GFS Events to allow us to resume our Annual Scholarship Celebration Luncheons in a way that safely included students, parents, donors and supporters. Throughout the trials and tribulations of event planning in current times, GFS Events provided us with the confidence to share our message and engage once again with the WAEF community.
