SVSF Small Hands to Big Plans Lunch-IN 2020

May 2020

For the 7th year the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation contracted GFS Events to plan and organize the Small Hands to Big Plans Benefit Luncheon. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to pivot the March 26th event to a virtual fundraiser in May. The team worked tirelessly with the Board and Luncheon committee to secure over $65,000 in cash and in-kind sponsorships. GFS Events turned the traditional table captain model into a virtual ambassador model and coordinated marketing, social media, videos and created an online giving platform for donations. We doubled the number of their “365 Club”–those donors that donate $1 per day for a year. This ended up being one of the highest grossing years in the history of the luncheon.

“The Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation has worked with GFS Events for several years as we plan our annual luncheon fundraising events. This year, 2020, was an unprecedented year and the COVID-19 Pandemic caused us to have to pivot very quickly on our plans to hold an in person event. The GFS events team researched and proposed a new virtual plan, including an effective platform to communicate to our donors. It was a lot of work, but with the support of the GFS Events team, we were able to have a successful fundraising to support our mission. Their support was integral in our success.”

Fun Fact
The highschool students in the video production class edited and helped us produce all the videos for the virtual event.
"It was a pleasure to work with both Gazala and Kavitha once again to bring our luncheon to light. This will be the 4th or 5th fundraiser I have personally worked with GFS Events on and would totally recommend. From start to finish and everything in between, they kept us on track to deliver our event on time this year. With the global pandemic COVID-19 putting a strain on our in-person annual event, we were challenged with taking our luncheon virtual and Gazala and Kavitha had a well laid out plan to execute our event in the virtual environment and reach an audience we may not have otherwise. Thoughtful insight was given with the consideration of holding an event during a pandemic and we were able to communicate in a sincere way and still set anattainable and realistic goal - that we met! I enjoyed working with GFS through our foundation and would highly recommend the services they provide."
